Building Description

Pearson on the Park (222 E Pearson) is a condo conversion project which started closings in 2005.   As part of the conversion to condos from apartments, the building renovated its lobby, added a state of the art fitness center, and a newly designed party room.   Standard interior unit features included hardwood floors, custom tile and paint, stainless steel appliances and brand name fixtures and finishes.

While condo conversions were popular in nearby neighborhoods such as River North and the Gold Coast, this project was one of two conversions in Streeterville during the last 5 years (474 N Lake Shore was the other).

Developed by Hawthorne Development, the 28-story, 219 unit project features 9 different floorplans.   A detailed list of features and floorplans can be found in this development brochure.

In July 2009, the lender on the project filed a foreclosure lawsuit against the developer.   At the time of the lawsuit, the building had closed 80% of its sales.
